Bad Ischl

Thursday 25 July, 2024

Our rest day was in Bad Ischl. In the morning we had a closer look at the town centre, the big church where Brukner used to play the organ (but not the one he is buried under) and then on to the grounds of the emperor’s summer villa. Lunch outside at a very nice Greek restaurant and then on to the pretty central park where Mike suddenly realised he had forgotten his rucksack back at the restaurant. We finally got this back when they re-opened at 5pm and then we went on to the old imperial spa baths. In the last pictures of this series, see the fantastic views (and imagine the running river sound) we had from one of Mike’s all-time favourite hotels.
