Today’s walk was direct from our hotel in Reith on the west side of Woflgangsee to our next hotel in Bad Ischl. The first part of the walk goes along the edge of the lake, actually on the old Salzkammergut railway trace. This took us across wonderful meadows and a swimming beach to Strobl where we bought rolls for lunch and eventually found (nice) toilets. From Strobl, the walk continues down the rivers Ache and Ischl that flow towards Bad Ischl. We ate lunch on a beach on the river. A few kilometers before Bad Ischl, the track goes away from the river and climbs up to the peaceful Nussensee where Lisbeth got her second swim of the day. Then on down a fairly muddy and steep path into the back streets of Bad Ischl and finally to our very nice hotel, right on the river in the centre of the town (coming in tomorrow’s pictures).
